Prashant Jhala

Prashant Jhala is a Sports Physiotherapist with expertise in sports related concussions and spinal pain in athletes. His expertise includes cervicogenic headaches, rib stress fractures, lumbar spine stress fractures, low back pain and how this affects elite sports performance.
Since 2018, Prashant has also been a sports physiotherapist with Rowing Australia working with junior rowing teams and the Women’s National Rowing Squad. Additionally, he is working with World Rugby to improve pitch-side first-aid management of athletes. Prior to his current roles, Prashant has previously worked at several levels of sport. He has consulted for several sporting organisations such as NSW and Victorian Premier Cricket, Baseball NSW, subdistrict rugby union and has been the head physiotherapist for schoolboys rugby, the Western Sydney Rams in the National Rugby Championship and the Samoan Men’s Rugby 7’s team in the HSBC Rugby 7’s World Series.
For the past 2 years, Prashant has been a lecturer at Macquarie University where he teaches in the Department of Health Professions and is a researcher in sports related concussions. His research investigates concussion epidemiology, the role of physiotherapy in the management of concussion and return to learning following concussions. His work has previously been presented at national sports medicine and physiotherapy conferences.
