Phil de Mestre
Podiatrist
Phillip de Mestre is a Sports Podiatrist providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment of foot and lower limb conditions. His area of specialty is lower limb biomechanics, gait analysis and sports injuries. Some common injuries he manages include heel pain, plantar fasciitis, Sever’s disease, stress fractures, shin splints, achilles tendinitis, osteoarthritis, Morton’s Neuroma, bunions and knee pain.
Phil possesses a strong personal interest in running, golf and rugby and is himself a competitive distance runner. This gives him an invaluable insight into the diagnosis and prompt treatment of the runners he sees, whether they be a competitive athlete, or weekend warrior. He will also be able to assess your running technique and retrain if necessary.
Phil firmly believes in patient education as being the first step in recovery: full explanation of diagnosis is given to all patients to give them an understanding of the condition being treated. Often stretching or strengthening regimes are issued and orthoses prescribed to realign lower limb abnormalities, though only if required.
