Dr Maxime Sellers
Dr Maxime Sellers completed medical school in the UK and worked in the NHS as a trainee surgeon before moving to Australia in 2016. He spent a number of years training in Orthopaedic Surgery throughout Sydney, where he gained extensive experience in practical management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries. His passion for sport however redirected his career, and he is now a 3rd year registrar in the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians.
Medical research has been a big part of Max’s career and he has presented his work at national and international medical conferences in England, France and Spain. His most recent study on English Footballers was published in peer reviewed journal ‘Science and Medicine in Football’ in 2025.
Max recently returned to Sydney after spending a year on the Gold Coast. There he honed his interventional skills, gaining experience in procedures such as corticosteroid, hyaluronic acid and Platelet Rich Plasma injections for joints, tendons or ligament injuries when indicated.
As well as his clinical work, Max has been heavily involved in sporting teams and events. He worked in Rugby League with the Manly Sea Eagles, as Chief Medical Officer for both the men’s and women’s Gold Coast Titans NRL teams, and now is the assistant Doctor to the South Sydney Rabbitohs. He is the Chief Medical Officer for Flag Football Australia, one of the newest sports to be part of the Olympics.
Other involvement in sports has been with Rugby Union and Football (soccer!), where he regularly provides pitch side medical assistance for Wallabies test matches and A League fixtures.
Max enjoys working with people of all ages regardless of their level of physical activity, and can offer a comprehensive assessment, treatment plan and exercise prescription for your musculoskeletal problem.
Outside of work he enjoys time with family, surfing and playing golf.
